TDawg Presents brings you the finest in music that heals the soul and brings life to your life. You KNOW that a TDawg show will always be a solid show!
The 8th Annual Atlanta Holiday Hootenanny is dedicated to the memory of the late great fiddler Vassar Clements, whose career spanned seven decades. Vassar performed alongside many musical luminaries, including Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs, Linda Ronstadt, Jerry Garcia, Peter Rowan, David Grisman, Stephane Grappelli, Dicky Betts, John Hartford, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Col. Bruce Hampton and so many more. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him and get to know him on a personal level. On a side note, Vassar first performed with Col. Bruce at HarvestFest in 1999. The WOW factor was in full effect needless to say as Vassar simply tore it up on “Time is Free” that also featured Barry Richman on guitar.
Please plan to join us on Thursday, December 20 for our “annual holiday party” that never fails to provide a WOW factor by the end, and rest assured this one will be no different!

~ THE HARVEST FAMILY HOOT IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT
================================================
As we get closer to THE weekend of The Harvest Family Hoot, I’ve been pondering what this event represents beyond a celebration of 20 years & going strong. We are gathering for what promises to be an absolutely amazing collaboration of musicians Friday night, all day Saturday and into the late night, yet I have come to the realization that this event is as much a segue way to another 20 years of reinvention and ways to bring music to the community, be it through the Frank Hamilton School or creating fresh community events that impact my immediate surroundings in the greater Atlanta area. I’m not sure what the future brings as far as camping events are concerned; I am certain that TDawg Presents will continue to provide a reason for folks with different ideals and beliefs – religious, political & otherwise – to enjoy the music together, as music is a strong common bond. It’s important to be reminded in such a polarizing world in which we live that there is more opportunity to unite than divide. I intend to do my part with the former rather than the latter.
I hope that you can join us this weekend – I know that you’ll leave with renewed energy for life and purpose. HOOOOOOOOTENANNY!

Enjoy this video from two years ago featuring Col. Bruce with the amazing horn section, performing his classic “Yield Not To Temptation” – Enjoy!
Managing Director Shelley Satonin-Hershkovits has published a new blog postingthat places emphasis on the nurturing process of learning provided by the Frank Hamilton School – it really is a wonderful sight to behold witnessing people of varying skill levels coming together for a harmonious jam where one can just play what is natural in the moment. It is this sort of environment that can be so welcoming to an individual (take me, for instance!) who has never played before or hasn’t played in 20 years and encouraging towards continuing beyond each session and Second Half to enjoy his/her instrument(s) of choice.
Come Play With Usand see what it’s all about. You’ll be glad you did! The new term begins Tuesday, March 7 & Wednesday, March 8.

TDawg Presents Martha Scanlan in a relaxed backyard setting, 466 Ridgecrest Rd., Atlanta, GA 30307.
BYOB, bring a chair, bring a grillable if you like, some apps will be available but feel free to contribute! Bring your instrument for some pre/post show jamming!
On behalf of The Frank Hamilton School, TDawg Presents is excited to bring you the acclaimed and gifted songwriter Martha Scanlan, formerly from the Reeltime Travelers, for a Sunday backyard gathering. This concert is a benefit for the Frank Hamilton School, so come on out and support a wonderful cause while witnessing magic on the stage with Martha’s presence. Martha hasn’t been around these parts very much in recent years so this will be a special performance! On a personal level, I worked with the Reeltime Travelers several times throughout their too brief of a career as a band, and I can’t express to you how excited I am to be presenting this show.
Martha Scanlan’s long-awaited third release, The Shape Of Things Gone Missing, The Shape Of Things To Come, is already being heralded as her best work yet. “A revelation, an instant classic and one of those rare albums that defies genre and generation. Scanlan evokes western landscapes as effectively as Georgia O’Keefe did on canvass.” – Dirty Linen

We’ve got a GREAT silent auction coming your way at the 5th Annual Holiday Hootenanny! A HUGE thanks goes out to all who have donated items for this year’s edition.
Among the items:
A Warren Haynes autographed Takamine acoustic guitar, courtesy of the Big House Museum and Executive Director Rob Schneck. Warren was thrilled to sign this guitar and added the peace sign. I can only imagine that the lucky soul who takes this guitar home will be feeling the mojo!
BothFloydFest 16 (July 27-31, 2016 Floyd, VA) & 20th Annual Suwannee SpringFest (March 17-20,2016 Live Oak, FL) have donated a pair of their VIP passes for this year’s Holiday Hoot! I have attended both many times – as both a promoter and a patron – and folks, you can’t go wrong! Such beauty lies in both locales, smothered in the Spanish moss off the Suwannee River in FL or glowing as a huge spark in the midst of the magnificent Blue Ridge Mountains in VA. I cannot distinguish between the two but to tell you that each one is so incredible you never believe it can be topped. Both festivals are so majestic and powerful – the music never stops! That is, until the festival ends 😉 Like my Back Porch Hootenannies and HarvestFests, you take that energy with you beyond.
The FloydFest lineup features – among many others – Greg Allman, Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers, Railroad Earth, Leftover Salmon, The Wood Brothers, Nahko & Medicine for the People, Keller Williams w/ More Than a Little, Larry Keel Experience, and more! You can visit the website for complete info.
Suwannee SpringFest brings you an equally amazing lineup, featuring John Prine, The Del McCoury Band, Donna the Buffalo, Keller Williams Grateful Grass, Jim Lauderdale, Larry Keel Experience, the Virginia Daredevils, and the list goes on! Check out their website for complete information!
From photographer Ian Rawn, a close up of Mick Jagger from the Rolling Stones appearance at Grant Field on the GT campus last summer!
Y’all we’re going to have some great items from restaurants and resorts, local artwork and jewelry, and even something hand-picked from Jim Lauderdale!
