Y’all read that right – we’re having a celebration HOOT at Cherokee Farms! 20 years of music brought to you by TDawg Presents (aka TDawg’s Productions and Eye Dawg Productions) is certainly reason enough to host The Harvest Family Hoot, so mark your calendars for April 6-7 to celebrate HarvestFest, TDawg’s Back Porch Hootenanny, and all points in between that have included that wonderful TDawg energy, from venues to community events.
More details to come the in the next couple of months, so STAY TUNED IN! Meanwhile we have the 7th Annual Atlanta’s Holiday Hootenanny to soothe your soul until the spring, and the concert, along with a silent & live auction, benefit a great cause in Atlanta Habitat for Humanity!
The forecast for Friday and Saturday is a beautiful one! We can’t wait for the music to start up on Friday night! We hope you can come on Friday, as we have Wildman Steve’s band, Blackberry Possum, kicking off the weekend high energy jamgrass and some special guests throughout. These fellas are highly skilled and will blow your mind. They’ll do two long sets so get ready! Bring your hammocks, too, as we’ll have some edge domes set up for your enjoyment, not to mention the jungle gym effect 😉 This is really going to be a fun weekend with friends and family, and the music is going to be off the chains!
The primary goal of a TDawg’s Back Porch Hootenanny has never been about bringing in the headliner that draws the big crowd – it’s about the extremely high quality of musicians and those in attendance joining forces for a incredible experience that leaves you happily decompressed from the rigors of your daily lives. You always leave with a new band in your head and memories of unique combinations of the participating musicians.
Below is the schedule for the weekend.

We’re just over a week out from the final Back Porch Hootenanny, and it is going to be an amazing time had by all, from the musicians to staff & volunteers to the patrons who have supported the Hootenannies all these years and HarvestFest before that! We all WANT to be there. The music will be continuous, first from the stage and carrying over to the late night acoustic jams! We will celebrate all that has been, that has brought an amazing group of individuals together to form an extra special potpourri of family and friends for so many years already and for the unforeseeable future. The message of bringing together community through music via TDawg Presents events doesn’t end; there is simply a change of venue in the Frank Hamilton School that will continue the trend of outstanding performances and on a more regular basis! Meanwhile, HOOOOOOOOOOTENANNY y’all!!!
The schedule is now complete for the inaugural Frank Hamilton Folk School Concert Series, held at the Red Light Cafe through the end of the year one Thursday each month! Stay tuned for a few more concerts and workshops TBA. Please read below for the complete schedule and spread the word! A portion of the proceeds from each concert benefits FHFS!
What a time we had at the 18th edition of TDawg’s Back Porch Hootenanny, a bi-annual tradition (at least!) since 2006! A big shout out to the crew – Tree Sound & Power, Tamara, Linda, Ben, Drew, Amanda, my darlin’ wife Stephanie, Starbridge owners Donna and Logan, Wildman Steve, and the volunteers who helped make this year’s spring event one for the books! As usual, the musicians brought their A+ game to the festie, and despite the move from longtime home Cherokee Farms we had ourselves an amazing experience and THANK YOU to everyone who made it out for our first time at Starbridge! We’ll be back at Cherokee Farms for the fall edition, #19, the weekend of September 18-19!
TDawg Presents is excited to bring this last minute show your way with good friends THE RAGBIRDS! Returning to the intimate confines of The Red Light Cafe, The Ragbirds bring their mesmerizing hypnotic world folk rock w/ a twist of gypsy sound straight to YOU! Click Hereto view a little more reading and an amazing video of their performance of my favorite Ragbirds song, “Brave New Beat.” Rising star Carly Gibson opens the evening – it’s simply a great night of music!

“Canada’s premier neo-tradsters romp from world-beat to blues, urban-pop to old-timey, with wild-eyed invention, haunting traditionalism, and spine-rattling groove.” (Scott Alarik, The Boston Globe)
No band epitomizes the polyethnic strands of modern folk music better than The Duhks. Since forming in Winnipeg in 2001 The Duhks have created a dynamic blend of old-timey, French Canadian and Celtic music punched up with shades of blues, soul and driving Afro Cuban rhythms that leaves festival crowds on their feet. Click Here to read more and view a video of the title track from their latest recording, “Beyond the Blue.”

TDawg Presents is excited to welcome the dynamic trio Dangermuffin to the 18th edition of TDawg’s Back Porch Hootenanny! If you’ve not had a chance to familiarize yourself with them quite yet, this is your chance, and there promises to be a few special sit-ins that might happen along the way through two-set, 3 hour performance! From Folly Beach, SC just outside of Charleston, their melodic sound represents three musicians bringing you something unique. Dangermuffin has recently completed a run of shows with bluegrass buddies The Larry Keel Experience and is gearing up for an extremely busy festival season this year! They perform Friday night only, and you must have a two-night pass to see them. So plan on coming out Friday, get your campsite up, and hear that set which is just for YOU!
The two videos – “Cicada” and “Little Douglas” – are from a performance at The Pour House in Charleston.
