7 May

Saturday May 10: Donna the Buffalo w/ special guest Tire Fire Acoustic Trio @ Music On Main Street, Lilburn

Tickets: $35 Click Here to purchase!

Time: Doors 6PM, Showtime 7PM

TDawg Presents, Music On Main Street & Grace Note Foundation are excited to announce the return of Donna the Buffalo to the outdoor stage! Two years ago, they took the stage and wow was it a night to remember. DtB brings blends of roots, folk-rock, reggae, rock, Cajun, zydeco, and folk for a show that is as much a party as it is a concert. History runs deep with TDawg Presents, dating all the way back to Oct 10, 1998 and the 1st Annual Harvest Fest in Fairburn, GA. It’s great to have them back in a wonderful outdoor setting.

Tire Fire Trio brings Appalachian Tire Burning Bluegrass Fusion from the South-East and is a perfect compliment to the rockin’ roots music of DtB!

Proceeds to benefit the Grace Note Foundation, which provides scholarships for band camp and music lessons at MOMS as well as financial aid to musicians in need, primarily for medical purposes.

Thursday, May 1 ~ Mason Via w/ special guest Ralph Roddenbery @ Red Light Cafe

Tickets: $20 ADV/$25 Door

Time: Doors @ 7PM, Showtime 8PM

TDawg Presents is proud to present former member of Old Crow Medicine Show, Grammy-nominated artist Mason Via, who has branched out to create his own mark!

“Mason Via is one of the best of the new generation of bluegrass players and this album makes that perfectly clear. Driving mash grass, sweet ballads, new bluegrass classic songs and country hits that could well end up on the radio are all right here in your hand. Mason goes a bit beyond traditional grass with some unusual progressions and surprising arrangements making these songs a delight to any ear whether familiar with bluegrass or not. With this his first bluegrass record, Mason is stepping out on his own and his future is “wide open” .You’re gonna hear a lot from this guy, enjoy your first taste!”

—Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon

It took four quick years for Mason Via to become one of the newest leaders of modern-day American roots music. During that whirlwind period, he toured the world as a member of Old Crow Medicine Show, earned a Grammy nomination for his work on the band’s chart-topping album Jubilee, contributed songs to Grammy Winning and Nominated records by Molly Tuttle and Del McCoury Band, and released his solo debut, New Horizons. The momentum continues with Mason Via, a self-titled solo record that balances the progressive with the timeless, reintroducing Mason as a southern storyteller and sharp-eyed singer/songwriter steeped in the bluegrass tradition.

By the early 2020s, he’d already flown the flag for bluegrass and folk music on prime-time TV as an American Idol contestant, completed multiple tours as the youngest member of Old Crow Medicine Show, and collaborated with artists like Sierra Ferrell — another Appalachian export who, like him, put her own spin on the music of the mountains.

Mason’s new self-titled recording is absoulutely fantastic, full of soul and fine picking.

Local favorite Ralph Roddenbery kicks off the evening with what promises to be a top tier set of brilliant and witty songwriting. This is going to be a fantastic night!

The forecast for Friday and Saturday is a beautiful one!  We can’t wait for the music to start up on Friday night!  We hope you can come on Friday, as we have Wildman Steve’s band, Blackberry Possum, kicking off the weekend high energy jamgrass and some special guests throughout.  These fellas are highly skilled and will blow your mind.  They’ll do two long sets so get ready!  Bring your hammocks, too, as we’ll have some edge domes set up for your enjoyment, not to mention the jungle gym effect 😉  This is really going to be a fun weekend with friends and family, and the music is going to be off the chains!

The primary goal of a TDawg’s Back Porch Hootenanny has never been about bringing in the headliner that draws the big crowd – it’s about the extremely high quality of musicians and those in attendance joining forces for a incredible experience that leaves you happily decompressed from the rigors of your daily lives.  You always leave with a new band in your head and memories of unique combinations of the participating musicians.

Y’all we’re going to have a fantastic time of it in just TWO weekends!  There is some great energy in the air around this last edition of TDawg’s Back Porch Hootenanny; I am so very thankful for having the opportunity to be an enabler of such amazing music with soooo many amazing musicians and like-minded individuals, as both groups have continued to support these wonderful small festies over the years and that is what has kept the spirit alive.  Small festivals are becoming a thing of the past, I feel, so come experience why they’re so special!  The journey will certainly continue in the new position as Director for Concerts, Community Outreach & Development for the Frank Hamilton School!

Scroll down for a great raw clip from Hootenannies past of Ralph Roddenbery on stage backed by the grooves of the Atlanta’s own Moontower.

We are only about THREE WEEKS OUT (April 1-2) from the biggest little blow out you’ve ever witnessed, should you be there.  I’ve had a few contemplative moments over the last few weeks as 2016 HootI begin a new journey that is currently overlapping with my passion of the past 18 years.  Come the time of the Back Porch Hoot Wrap Party, I feel only celebration and not sadness as I move forward with a life’s worth of experiences in only the first half of my time here.  The musicians assembled for TDawg’s Back Porch Hootenanny #19 represent the beginning of HarvestFest, my time being involved with the Atlanta Dogwood  Festival, and the Back Porch Hootenanny era.  We are all excited to go down the road one more time as a Hoot, and you can rest assured the midnight Hootenanny Battlecry on Saturday night will be a true Howlin’ At The Moon experience!

Every note will reciprocate the appreciation from the audience, regardless of whether they’re listening from the front of the stage, out in the field with your family in warm sunlight, under the tent where the shade is nice, or from your campsite.  The jams continuing into the night will be energetic andbonfire soothing to the soul as they always are.  The large bonfire burns to what seems like an eternity, creating a mesmerizing and meandering flow of yellow and orange flames, while smaller and equally inviting fires sprout up in the darkness, often accompanied by the sound of music being made.  I, for one, am really looking forward to celebrating what first HarvestFest and then the Hootenannies have done to bring together so many family and friends.
