Benefit/Celebration at Sweetwater Brewing Co. tonite 2/26!

26 Feb

Hey y’all this is a great event for a great cause, in honor of Charlotte, who was head chef at Fox Bros Bbq.  She lost her battle with breast cancer about two weeks ago, and the Fox Bros./Big Tex family is throwing a party celebrating her life at and to raise money for research at Sweetwater Brewing Co.  Please click on the picture below taken of Charlotte at Fox Bros. for complete information, but our friends from MOONTOWER are going to be rockin’ it on out, too!

ANCS Benefit a Success!

TDawg Presents is proud to say that the event raised $2,655 for Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School, funds that will be put into direct use.

Thanks to everyone who attended this fun-as-all-get-out event supporting this diamond in the rough of Atlanta Public Schools.  The parents and teachers had a blast boogie’n on down to Smokey’s Farmland Band, Hair of the Dog and The Squirrelheads!  A very special thanks goes out to all those who donated their time and products, especially ENCYCLOMEDIA for the space and including FOX BROS. BBQ, BHOJANIC, TWAIN’s BILLIARDS & TAP, Paul Diaz and the crew at TREE SOUND STUDIOS and parents who cooked, set up & cleaned up.

Projects like this one mean a lot to me and many others.  I’d like to continue working on benefits for non-profits as part of the scope of TDawg Presents.  I can provide consulting services and/or execution of an event, including coordinating the talent, social networking, production, and catering.  Please spread the good word – I believe I put on a great event, and I enjoy putting a smile on people’s faces while raising money for a good cause!

It’s a beautiful day tomorrow, and the perfect way to wrap it up is by supporting a great cause, chowing down on some great food, enjoying some fine craft brews, and seeing some fantastic true Americana, from bluegrass to Cajun to New Orleans funk!

The red beans’n’rice – both kinds – are tasting mighty fine!  I’ll have some Tobasco on hand for those you (like me) who love the extra kick!  I sampled/enjoyed tremendously the world famous spinach queso dip this afternoon, peanuts to boil tomorrow morning!  We also have some deeeeelicious jambalaya, Fox Brothers BBQ sliders, samosas from Bhojanic in addition to more goodies than I can list here!

Twain’s Langhorne IPA and Abita Amber are the beers of choice, and perhaps some other gems will pop up!  We’re also serving wine and alternative beverages.

All the good eats’n’bevies PLUS The Squirrelheads (w/ horn section!), Hair of the Dog, and Smokey’s Farmland Band for one price!  Advance tix are still available at the link below, or you can help the cause and pay at the door!

I am VERY excited about the show tonight with Grayson Capps, Caroline Herring, and Rev. Jeff Mosier!  They will be accompanied by Grayson’s guitarist, Corky Hughes for what promises to be quite a unique night of collaborations translating into magic on stage.  That’s what it’s all about!

I’m thinking it would be a fun idea to create an in-the-round concert series that promotes not only our amazing plethora of amazing songwriters in the ATL but also those who are national and regional acts passing through.  When you combine our local flavor with the traveling bard, great things happen!
