Final Lineup for TDawg’s Back Porch Hootenanny, April 5-6!!

13 Feb

Hooooooooootenanny

We’ve put the finishing touches on a stellar lineup for this spring by adding Chattanooga favorites STRUNG LIKE A HORSE to the Saturday night lineup and Hootenanny stalwart RALPH RODDENBERY as an At-Large participant.  I feel like this always brings the best out of Ralph! 😉

The lineup is as follows (and is always subject to change): The Ragbirds, Strung Like a Horse, Rev. Jeff Mosier, Caroline Aiken, Bibb City Ramblers, Scott Warren & The Booze Moutaineers, Red Clay Revival (FRI), and Nothing & The Nobodies (FRI).

Artists At-Large: Donna Hopkins, Lefty Williams, Ralph Roddenbery

Advance tickets are available through the Hootenanny page at tdawgpresents.com.  FRI-SAT passes will be $55 at the gate, $45 for SAT ONLY, and $35 for a SAT day pass.  Kids 12 & under are admitted FREE, ages 13-16 for $20.  For more information, links, and videos, please visit the Hootenanny page.  We also have an event page on FaceBook.

Folks, we’re gonna have ourselves a freakin’ great time!

It’s a beautiful day tomorrow, and the perfect way to wrap it up is by supporting a great cause, chowing down on some great food, enjoying some fine craft brews, and seeing some fantastic true Americana, from bluegrass to Cajun to New Orleans funk!

The red beans’n’rice – both kinds – are tasting mighty fine!  I’ll have some Tobasco on hand for those you (like me) who love the extra kick!  I sampled/enjoyed tremendously the world famous spinach queso dip this afternoon, peanuts to boil tomorrow morning!  We also have some deeeeelicious jambalaya, Fox Brothers BBQ sliders, samosas from Bhojanic in addition to more goodies than I can list here!

Twain’s Langhorne IPA and Abita Amber are the beers of choice, and perhaps some other gems will pop up!  We’re also serving wine and alternative beverages.

All the good eats’n’bevies PLUS The Squirrelheads (w/ horn section!), Hair of the Dog, and Smokey’s Farmland Band for one price!  Advance tix are still available at the link below, or you can help the cause and pay at the door!

I am VERY excited about the show tonight with Grayson Capps, Caroline Herring, and Rev. Jeff Mosier!  They will be accompanied by Grayson’s guitarist, Corky Hughes for what promises to be quite a unique night of collaborations translating into magic on stage.  That’s what it’s all about!

I’m thinking it would be a fun idea to create an in-the-round concert series that promotes not only our amazing plethora of amazing songwriters in the ATL but also those who are national and regional acts passing through.  When you combine our local flavor with the traveling bard, great things happen!

TDawg’s Back Porch Hootenanny tease!

14 Jan

Mark your calendars in for FRI-SAT APRIL 5-6 folks for what promises to be one of the best Hootenannies yet!  As if we can keep getting better with it all, but we sure do seem to 😉  I know we’re just hitting the middle of January, but it’s not too early to wish us out of winter and into that fabulous spring weather in the NW Georgia mountains!  Some great things in store, still trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together, but let’s just say that this year will create a stir not felt in a long time.  There’s at least one flock of birds landing at Cherokee Farms, another yet to be determined.  We’ll have a preacher on hand, as well as a couple of ladies who happen be two of the great leaders of the Atlanta folk rock’n’blues scene and a guitar-slingin’n’singin’ leftie. Stay tuned for more information soon!
