The 2018 edition of the Atlanta Holiday Hootenanny will feature a dedication to the late Vassar Clements, who passed away in 2005. He transcended several genres with his fiddle playing, including performing with Bill Monroe, Jerry Garcia, Stephan Grapelli, and the great Django Reinhardt. Vassar also created his own form of music called Hillbilly Jazz, combining elements of Western swing, jazz, country and even rock, to form a sound all its own.
